Welcome back everybody!
So as I said in my last post, I will be spamming you with a load of Disney posts for the next few months… mixed with other topics too of course! And as halloween is fast approaching us, I thought there was no better time to talk about Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party then in my first Disney post:)
Now MNSSHP is by far the event where i’ve made my best halloween memories! Me, my mum and brother have all been plenty of times now (i’m talking back when I went to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Boutique in the World of Disney shop, to get my hair done, and then dress up as a Pirate Princess days). So I feel like I can give you some pretty good insight, tips and tricks all about it!
So my first point to make is just how many sweets (candy) you get at this party! I mean sure they give you trick or treating bags, but after stopping at a few stations your bags are going to be full! So my first tip:
1. Bring an empty rucksack or shopping bag to pour your sweets in so you can get more sweets then imaginable! And don’t be embarrassed by it… everyone does it!
For me and my family, we love going on all of the rides. So our go-to when we get into Magic Kingdom is to run straight to them (after stopping at any candy stations on the way of course). And this year Disney introduced some awesome new details to their rides… Space Mountain in the complete darkness! Disco tea-cups and Pirates of the Caribbean with live actors… They were all amazing! And it was so nice getting to experience something a little bit different:)
So as I said, we don’t tend to run straight to meet characters because… well they get very long queues! But I had to make an exception for Winnie the Pooh and friends in their halloween costumes, because they were the cutest things I have ever seen! Which leads me to my second tip;
2. Queue to meet characters during the first Halloween parade as it is generally a much shorter wait, and then you can watch the performances in the later showings.
Now talking about meeting characters… you don’t have to queue for all of them! In Frontierland they had characters just walking around, that you could stop and take photos with… no queue at all! And these included characters like Brer Bear and Brer Rabbit, (which you don’t tend to see that often in the park)!
Onto the shows, a key part to MNSSHP! Just to make you aware, during the party there is only 1 showing of the Happy HalloWishes Firework Show, 2 showings of the Boo-To-You parade and 3 Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular performances! We went and saw the Hocus Pocus show at the 12pm showing, which was a perfect way to end the perfect night… plus it was pretty quiet which gave us an even better view of it.
And talking about all of the different shows, my third tip would have to be;
3. Schedule out time for the shows, now Disney kind of already do this for you, as they planned them all accordingly to one another. However we decided to do the 10:15pm fireworks (sort of, whilst in the queue for Pooh & Friends), followed by the 11:15pm parade and lastly the 12pm show. This way we had all the rest of the time to do rides, trick or treating and character spots:)
Mickey’s Not So Scary is perfect for anyone at any age, you can dress up however you want, take loads of photos and get in the halloween spirit! It is honestly so much fun and my jaw ached by the end of the night from all of the smiling… and my legs ached from all of the walking too! haha
Now the party is $85 per ticket, which is obviously something to take into account. But I personally think that from the amount of sweets you get, exclusive experiences and memories you make, that it is completely worth it! So for my final tip;
4. Have fun, take a bunch of photos! Make amazing memories and soak it all in!
So thank you all so much for reading! I hope you found this helpful, or just enjoyed reading it in general and looking at all of the photos!
Have a fantastic week… And i’ll speak to you soon!
